The 3rd West Bridgford (St Giles) Rangers, part of GirlGuiding UK, will hopefully trade chamois for sleeping bags after helping local residents to get beautifully clean cars.
The girls will be rolling up their sleeves and grabbing their sponges on Sunday 14 June to raise funds for much needed new camping equipment. Headed by Laura Clark, the group will be washing cars at West Bridgford Fire Station for a minimum donation of £3. They are also looking for local businesses to donate essential car washing equipment such as car shampoo, buckets and sponges that they can use to help them with their task.
Laura said, "We are in need of camping equipment so we can make the most of the summer we’re (hopefully) going to be enjoying this year. Our target is to raise £1,000, through this and other fundraising activities."
The Guides will be offering their car washing services at West Bridgford Fire Station on Loughborough Road between 10-4pm on Sunday 14 June.
Local solicitors Fraser Brown have already offered their best car washing skills to help the girls with their mission, if you can help donate materials for the car wash, contact Laura Clark on 0115 947 1533.
