Press Release
Junior Lawyers Out In Force
Around 100 young lawyers from across the county gathered in Nottingham last night, at the inaugural meeting of a newly formed legal group, the Junior Lawyers Division.
The event was organised by Will Cursham, from solicitors Fraser Brown, who is events secretary for the Junior Lawyers Division. Set up at the end of 2008, it replaces the Nottinghamshire Trainee Solicitors and Young Solicitors Groups and provides support, advice, information and networking opportunities to Junior Lawyers.
Will was voted onto the committee by his counterparts from throughout Nottinghamshire. With three other lawyers also on the committee, Fraser Brown holds four of the ten available seats – more than any other firm involved.
Student members of the Law Society enrolled through the Solicitors Regulation Authority, trainee solicitors, or solicitors with up to five years active practice are all automatically represented by the Junior Lawyers Division.
Will said, “The launch event was designed to show people what the JLD can do for them and explain why they should use the services on offer. It’s great that so many people turned up and are keen to get involved over the next 12 months.”
