Fraser Brown Solicitors has responded to the Coalition Government’s announcements on the possible changes to Capital Gains Tax by announcing the launch of a special task force to provide clients with access to legal services seven days a week.
The team, which will be made up of thirteen solicitors from the commercial property and corporate departments, will be available for calls and face-to-face appointments throughout the weekend as well as the working week, ensuring a fast response and turnaround time for clients.
Patrick Wood, partner and head of commercial property at Fraser Brown, said, "We recognise that in the light of recent announcements a lot of people might want to dispose of property or restructure how they hold their property or investment portfolio."
"Having experienced solicitors available seven days a week not only allows us to react quickly but also provides a greater degree of flexibility for those clients who may be busy and unable to make appointments at standard times during the week."
The Coalition Agreement released by the Liberal Democrats and Conservatives suggests that the rate of tax payable on non-business capital gains is likely to rise to similar rates to income tax rates. This may mean rates as high as 40 or 50 percent, which could be implemented with immediate effect following the Budget Speech on 22 June.
The task force will be available seven days a week in the run up to the emergency budget on 22 June. Solicitors will be available on the telephone or in face-to-face appointments, which can be made by calling 0115 9888747.
