Fraser Brown Serves up New Team for Licensed Trade

Published: 16 Oct 2008

Nottingham-based Fraser Brown Solicitors has launched a new division that gives licensees a complete package of support, covering everything from property leases to employment matters.

The 18-strong Leisure Industry Team is stamping its presence across the Midlands as the leisure industry begins to see the silver lining of the credit crunch.

David Lucas, Partner and Head of Licensing at Fraser Brown, explained that while many industries were suffering as people tighten their belts, the leisure and hospitality sector in the UK could benefit from the changes: “Customers are holidaying closer to home and looking to economise without changing their standard of living, and pubs and restaurants can benefit from this.

“Our new offering recognises the changes within the sector and is designed to offer a ‘one-stop-shop’ for licensees, whatever their level of experience or situation. We understand the industry and by covering a whole range of issues all under one roof, can provide information and advice without any delay – essential when running a business.”

The firm works with a large range of the city’s bars and restaurants including many of the winners at this year’s Restaurant Awards and the licensing team has already built an enviable reputation within the region.

The new team builds on this knowledge and brings together expertise in Commercial Property, Dispute Resolution and Employment Law, as well as a wealth of experience dealing with all aspects of Licensing from training to temporary event notices.

Amongst the services provided by Fraser Brown’s Leisure Industry Team are advice on lease agreements, sales and acquisitions, property issues, dispute resolution, debt collection, employment and Human Resource issues. The firm is also one of the leading training providers for the BIIAB-approved National Certificate Training for Personal Licence Holders, offering monthly courses with a pass rate of 98 percent throughout 2008.

Online live matter tracking and progress reports are available for a range of services to enable the licensee to view the status of their case 24/7.

Fraser Brown is already working with national names such as Admiral Taverns, Greene King and the Fat Cat Group, as well as other operators. In addition the team is keenly sought out by local authorities across the country that need to access its skills.
