Walaiti Rathore, a Licensing Specialist at Fraser Brown has worked with Oscar's to vary their premises licence to provide further flexibility for the business and to expand its offer to its customers.
The venue, which is located in Main Street, Calverton, Nottingham is now authorised to sell alcohol and provide regulated entertainment as well as late night refreshment for longer hours.
These activities can now be provided between:
- 9.00 am and 11.00 pm with a closing time of midnight on weekdays and
- 9.00 am and 12.30am on Fridays and Saturdays with a closing time of 01.00am.
In addition, the venue is authorised to allow licensable activities until 1.30am with a closing time of 02.00am, for a number of pre-booked private events per year.
Dominic Hayer, the Managing Director of Oscar's, said: “Following the successful relaunch of Oscar's in November 2015 we have continued to receive very positive feedback for both the new decor and the addition of a private function room. Extending the hours seemed to be the next logical step in continuing to work towards enhancing our customers experience and expand our offer to the local community.
Walaiti Rathore at Fraser Brown was, once again, instrumental in working with us to obtain the necessary variation to the premises licence. He successfully worked with the Police and the Environmental Health Department on our behalf to negotiate and agree a proposal that we could all work with”.
Walaiti said: “We also took the opportunity with this application to work with the relevant authorities to agree less restrictive and more proportionate conditions for this venue and its style of operation. This was possible due to the continued success of the venue and the positive effect it has had in the area through good management and investment.
Having previously worked with the residents, the operators did not receive any objections to this application which shows that the operators have been delivering on their plans to maintain a product and service for the benefit of the community”.
