Nottingham Young Professionals join forces to take part in Tough Mudder Challenge

A team of young professionals from three Nottingham firms have joined forces to take on the Tough Mudder Challenge.

Ed Wesson of Smith Cooper Accountancy and Business Advisory Firm, Marcus-Adam Tuck of Fraser Brown Solicitors and Ben Morton of Santander who are heading up a team, made up of professionals from their firms, will take on the testing course on the weekend of 21st/22nd May, at Belvoir Castle. They will compete under the team name of Tough Mudder’s Reluctant Runners.

Tough Mudder is a 10-12 mile mud and obstacle course designed to challenge the participants’ physical strength, stamina, and mental grit. It is a challenge that places emphasis on teamwork and camaraderie, whilst raising money for charity.

The Reluctant Runners will be raising money for My Sight Nottinghamshire. My Sight Nottinghamshire (Formerly Nottinghamshire Royal Society for the Blind /NRSB) is a local charity which exists to ensure people living with sight loss across Nottinghamshire have access to the same life opportunities as everyone else.

Marcus-Adam Tuck, of Fraser Brown said: “Raising money for any charity is always worthwhile and I think it’s especially rewarding running for My Sight Nottinghamshire. This particular local charity relies heavily on donations to ensure the continuation of essential services helping the visually impaired children and adults.”

Ben Morton commented: “I have a huge amount of respect for my team mates who have (bravely) given up their free time in committing to this year’s Tough Mudder Midlands. It’s not just the day of the run but it’s the great amount of training that goes in to the preparation.”

Ed Wesson added: “It’s amazing how quickly raising money for a local charity can escalate. Almost 6 months on, barely any training and 11 miles of obstacles looming… this is definitely not what I had in mind.”

Jonny Rudge, Fundraiser at My Sight, added: “My Sight Notts is a small, local charity so it is fantastic that three highly regarded and Nottingham based firms have chosen to join forces and support us. Every penny raised by Fraser Brown, Smith Cooper and Santander will be spent locally and will make a real difference to the lives of people living with sight loss right across Notts.”
