Commercial Solicitor

We are looking for a selct motivated, self-starting lawyer to join our growing firm.  This is a unique opportunity for a vaired role on a flexible working basis.  Depending on the candidate, the position can accommodate full-time or part-time working and/or working from home.

SCOPE OF ROLE

  • Variety of commercial legal work, largely for SME clients
  • Particular emphasis on business format franchising, including franchise agreement reviews
  • Dealing with initial client enquiries
  • Commercial contract drafting/negotiating
  • Intellectual property advice, including trade marks
  • Support on marketing and business developemtn initiatives for the firm
  • Attending networking events and taking part in franchise shows
  • Drafting blogs and press releases

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Likely to suit a candidate with 3 to 5 years PQE, but with flexibility above this, depending on the candidate.

ESSENTIAL

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister
  • Experience of general commercial (non-contentious) work for SMEs
  • Experience in one or more of the following:
  • Trade marks and intellectual property
  • Brand licensing
  • Business format franchising
  • Commercial Contract drafting

PREFERRED

  • Experience in business format franchising, including work for both franchisors and franchisees
  • Experience/skills in networking, client relationship management

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Outgoing, motivated and positive
  • Practical, solution-focused approach
  • Commercial awareness
  • Comfortable with networking and business development activities
