Fraser Brown on Magpies Shirts

11 May 2011

Notts County Football Club is today delighted to announce the home shirt sponsor for the 2011/12 campaign.

Fraser Brown, a Nottingham-based solicitors, were selected from the companies that paid to enter a draw for the chance to have their logo on the front of the new Magpies home shirt.

Representatives from the businesses gathered in the Meadow Lane Sports Bar for the important announcement, which saw BBC Radio Nottingham"s Colin Slater pick out the winner.

Along with the front of shirt sponsorship, Fraser Brown will have two perimeter boards at Meadow Lane, an advert in every matchday programme and executive packages for two home matches of their choice.

Peter Thornley, Managing Partner at Fraser Brown, was delighted to have his company selected, especially being a lifelong Notts County supporter.

Speaking to Magpie Player, he said: "I"m absolutely delighted, I never expected it and at first when I was telephoned to be told that I"d won, I thought it was a wind-up.

"I had to be persuaded by speaking to Colin Slater that it wasn"t actually a wind-up.

"35 years I"ve been a supporter and it"s great for us, great for the business and hopefully good for Notts County."

Peter can"t wait until the new season where he will see the Fraser Brown logo on the front of the new Notts jersey and he hopes that it will be associated with success on the pitch.

"It will be tremendous, and hopefully we"ll see it in some very big games and some pictures in the newspapers next season," he continued. "Nobody will be more proud than me.

"The new manager is like a breath of fresh air and after Saturday, I think all the fans that I speak to now are really hopeful for next season.

"I"m really looking forward to it and I can"t wait for it to start!"

Commercial & Marketing Director Mark Devlin was delighted to see the 150 Club become such a success.

He added: "Not only have we got a winner that"s a local company, the Managing Partner is an avid Notts fan.

"It"s fantastic, it"s worked for all of those reasons, it also gives us a chance to work with a lot of other companies, some of which we"ve never worked with before, and get them more interested in the football club going forward.

"That was an important part of what we were trying to achieve so I would say it"s a resounding success and a great start for the 150 Year celebrations."

The remaining companies will also receive hospitality packages during the 2011/12 season, as well as feature in the matchday programme for every home match.

TalkSport"s Andrew McKenna acted as the independent adjudicator for the draw.
